Key Responsibilities:

The Business Development Manager role is an exciting, new field sales-based role. The objective of the role is to identify and develop car finance business from introducers on a national basis. The Vehicles Division currently offers a full range of finance products for the purchase of new and used vehicles/LCV’s to both prime and non-prime customers.

  • Identify new introducers (motor retailers, commercial vehicle suppliers, commercial, horse box suppliers, brokers etc) with the potential to refer customers to 1pm’s Vehicle Finance division
  • Complete due diligence checks on potential introducers
  • Make recommendations based on the due diligence checks as to whether to on board the potential introducer
  • Pre-qualify new introducer opportunities over the phone with a view to deciding on next steps
  • Visit potential new introducers by appointment taking a consultative approach ie how can the 1pm Vehicles Finance division assist the introducer with their customers finance requirements
  • Develop fleet clients by visiting clients and taking a consultative approach to their needs.
  • Seek affiliates with the potential to refer vehicle finance business to the 1pm Vehicles department (eg national driving schools, charities etc), subject to FCA authorisations
  • Promote the vehicle finance division within the 1pm group maximising the opportunity for the cross referral of business from other group subsidiaries
  • Understand each group subsidiaries product offering and identify opportunities to cross sell products
  • Sign up new introducers, promoting the 1pm vehicle finance offering, maximising business levels from the introducer.
  • Create positive internal relationships to maximise the referral of introducers from the 1pm group team
  • Work closely with the marketing department to develop strategies resulting in a flow of warm introducer leads.
  • Achieve sales targets
  • Study for and pass the on-line compliance training modules
  • Ensure TCF is at the centre of the role. The test is simple, if your action could not be comfortably published on the front page of the FCA’s newsletter then do not take the action.

Personal Attributes:

  • Minimum 2 years vehicle finance, field sales experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • ‘Hunter’ sales person with the ability to open doors to new introducer relationships
  • Articulate and influential, able to enthuse the Vehicle Finance team to ensure referral opportunities are maximised
  • Punctual, reliable and highly motivated individual
  • Able to use your own initiative as well as working effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
  • High attention to detail, accurate and thorough
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Desire to develop in role including supported external courses/qualifications
